I've used my own imagery in a few songs, such as Rein Raus and Feuer und Wasser, and will again with songs I'm really clear about, but didn't with this one. I'm not sure why. It would open things up a lot more for really good lyrics. Never mind, it works in the original:
We're all living in America
America is so super
We're all living in America
America, America
When we dance I want to lead
Even if you're spinning alone
You should let yourself accede
I'll show you how it really goes
We're dancing nicely as we spin
And freedom plays the violins
Music comes from the White House
Paris is held by Mickey Mouse
We're all living in America
America is so super
We're all living in America
America, America
I know some really handy moves
I'll keep you dancing in the groove
Those who won't dance can trust
they will find that they must
We're dancing nicely as we spin
I'll show you how you must fit in
As Africa gets Santa Claus
And Paris goes to Mickey Mouse
We're all living in America
America is so super
We're all living in America
America, America
We're all living in America
Coca Cola, Wonderbra
We're all living in America
America, America
This is not a love song
This is not a love song
I don't sing my mother-tongue
No, this is not a love song
We're all living in America
America is so super
We're all living in America
America, America
We're all living in America
Coca-Cola, sometimes war
We're all living in America
America, America
