In Fine Vettel

I'm sorry. I know this is way off-topic, but I just heard Eddie Irvine saying what I have thought for a year, i.e. that Vettel is the new Schumacher (as a driver, not as a person, mind). Hell yes! It's always nice when an expert voices your own opinions on international television.

Now RBR need to sort their reliability out...

  1. O_o That was the last thing I expected to see on this site. BUT! Thank you! :D I agree with Eddie completely. And Michael also said before leaving, that the future of German motorsport in his opinion laid with Vettel.
    It's the team I'm worried about. :(

  2. Oh, I've posted about F1 on here before...once :)

I just don't do it often, because I figure most of my readers don't care.

The reliability is a serious concern. For both cars to have problems in practice, and after problems for Vettel in Australia and Bahrain, is a nightmare. They're both really good drivers, and when they're running the cars are quick. It's got to be sorted.

Another thing Irvine remarked is that the cars that are tuned and set up to the absolute limit are more likely to do this, so it might be that they need to take a more conservative approach. I don't know enough technically to comment on that.

Anthony Davidson, who is also part of the commentary team during practice did not respond to Eddie's comment, but I wish he had. He's the most technically savvy of the BBC team.

  3. Hello. I'm new here. Found the site thanks to the post on Rammstein Facebook Page and I must give you the credit for this great blog! As for F1, it's also great to see someone else that joins the same admiration for two of my favorite things, as R+ and F1.
Then, so, after the Malaysian GP you must be very happy, as Vettel won it easily! Although I have a great admiration for the kid, i am a Tifosi (well, a portuguese one...). Maybe one day, by seeing it in Ferrari, I can cheer even more for him... :) as i did many times for Schumi!

  4. Hi Pedro,

Thank you for your kind words :)

Yes, I am very happy about the race. The RBR team's reliability still worries me, but it was a brilliant outcome for me. Maybe one day Vettel will race with Ferrari, but I honestly don't care which car he's in, so long as it's a good one.
