Caliban Cover Sonne

Caliban's cover of Sonne, to be included in their Cloverfield EP, is sampled in this video. Thanks to James for the link. I thought I had posted the news when this cover was announced, but apparently didn't, a sad failure on my part.

As an aside, I find it incomprehensible that a band's official YT channel administrator would block embedding their videos on other sites, as having your media playing on other sites is a good way to spread awareness, but this is the way Caliban's people do things, so a link it is. Meh.

Silenzium on Sonne

The Russian string band has added a cover of Sonne to their repertoire (joining Mein Herz Brennt, and covers of other artists):



I love that they did it. I'm still trying to work out if I like how they did it. They don't seem to have incorporated the vocal parts into the melody, which thins it, I think. It may grow on me...

RRR's Blabbermouth posted the other day that Crionics will have a Moskau cover on their new CD, coming out this year. To be honest, I have never heard of Crionics, but new takes on Rammstein classics are always fun.

Russian Pussy Cover Coming

Eiskaltherz has very kindly come to my rescue after my Russian translation SOS, and as I suspected the article is about an upcoming cover of Pussy, adapted and produced in collaboration with Rammstein:

Rammstein make a song for "Радистка К@т"
[ that's the singer's name, could be translated as "radio operator Kat", i think. ]

Kat (K@t) has started working on her first album. One of the tracks will be a translated and adjusted version of a scandalous Rammstein hit "Pussy". Some of the Rammstein members helped with the song: Oliver Riedel and Christoph Schneider had already written the rhythm-section channels (tracks?) for that cover specifically. K@t will be singing in duet with the "master of extreme russian grotesque", Kirill Nemolyaev and very soon everyone (in Russia) will know what that song is about!"

It's worth mentioning that Eiskaltherz remarked not having heard of the Russians involved, despite being Russian, so it may be that this cover will lift K@T out of relative obscurity.
