Devin Townsend Talks to The Gauntlet

TG has had a chat with Townsend, whose Rammlied remix is to be included on the new ITDW single. Tubas, banjos, and fart sounds are mentioned. That said the really telling part for me was this:

I remember when I sent it back to them, I was thinking they were either going to like it or just hate me forever. They ended up really liking it, really liking it. I think by them releasing it it just reaffirms that they are just a bunch of decent guys with a good sense of humor. It was a real honor.

When an artist appreciates the sense of humour of a client in accepting his work you know it's going to be silly.

LILT: Rammlied 1.4

After consulting with Alea and mulling over the idea of 'pulling a wicked face for a wicked occasion'* I've changed the 'good face' line to a 'Ramm-face' line. The good face idea didn't seem to quite fit, and the alternative interpretation, which is to 'not grin and bear it' just didn't play for me at all.

* In proper English wicked means 'evil' or 'bad', but colloquial usage has it meaning 'great', 'fantastic', or 'wonderful'. The phrase 'pull a wicked face for a wicked occasion' uses both proper and slang meanings, respectively. Unfortunately it didn't fit the line, rhythmically, so Ramm-face was born.

Pussy: It's About RELEASE

It had to be done. That's my last bad pun...but one. Rammstein's announcement of the single's imminent release (18 September) has caused thousands of straight women the world over to want nothing so much as Pussy.

Okay, now I'm done. Pussy comes *coughsorrycough* with a video and Rammlied as the B-side. Since I'm looking forward to Rammlied as much as I am Pussy this is what I consider excellent news. The new album's October release is also confirmed on the official site.

As an aside, I'm still seriously broken. My back is in fairly bad shape and I'm on some seriously woo-woo drugs for it, so I'm not being productive at the moment.
